A new plan for 2015?!

There have been some rather confident rumours circulating instagram about a new and exciting revamp of the Slimming World plan.

At first I was dubious, nervous even, but after giving it some thought I think that my tatty old book and relaxed habits could do with a bit of a kick up the proverbial bum.

Having said that I lost a whopping 2.5lbs on Wednesday (2lb of which I had gained the week before) and I am currently at my lowest weight since joining Slimming World- yippee!!

Hi-fi Bars

A new week commences today and although I gained 1.5lbs last night, I have still maintained my 1 stone total loss, which definitely softened the blow.

I thought I'd treat myself to some hi-fi bars (I was starving) so I opted for Rocky Road.
Read on for the verdict...

One meal at a time... a successful slimming world concept (draw a line dotcom)

So I drafted this post on 1st August which was around 13 weeks ago.

My "one meal at a time" spreadsheet came to fruition in June. I was not sticking to plan, I was not trying and I was miserable.

There are 21 meals in a week and I now take time to note how many of the 21 meals I have on plan. In June I was 9 stone 8lbs and at my last weigh in I was 8 stone 13.5lbs. I achieved my one stone award and my Club 10 award.

This method works for me.

If I have a mahoosive pizza on a Saturday night, I draw a line and have an on plan breakfast on Sunday morning. If I skip lunch that same Sunday, I make sure that dinner is on plan.

And so on.

It seems so simple but it works!! It rids me of the guilt for one.

On a good week I will have 18 meals on plan out of the 21 and lose 1-2lbs.
I'm more than ok with that.

~ ~ *
Thursday 9th * * *
Friday 10th * * *
Saturday 11th * * x
Sunday 12th * x *
Monday 13th * * *
Tuesday 14th * x *
Wednesday 15th * * ~ 18/21 8.13.5      -2lbs

For me, it makes this more of a lifestyle thing rather than a fad. I've been a member for over a year now and although I've "only" lost a stone, my relationship with food is better than its ever been.

Having said that...I have just had a weeks annual leave and about 10 days of pigging out, but only tonights weigh in can tell....
I'll draw a line and have a fabby on plan dinner tonight anyway.

*star* week - what does that mean to you?

TMI or not I hadn't had star week for every long time due to contraceptive hormones (the injection).

So a couple of weeks ago I experienced my first star week in maybe over a year.
There was chocolate devouring, tears and a mahoosive weight gain (+2lbs!!!)
I was hormonal so didn't stay to group but my consultant said on average the gain is 2lb-4lb when its "that time of the month".

Low and behold the following week I was down 2lbs. I wonder if this affects everyone...people at group don't seem that open about it.

A poor girl last week had gained 3lbs and was sobbing. It was her * week. She had been as good as gold. If she loses more than 3lbs tomorrow I will know that it was water weight like the consultant said.

I will definitely be keeping an eye on this. Not just for weight but to get to know how my own body works (cringe)- god I hate it when people talk like that!
But seriously, I'm 25 years old and should know that if I cry at Eastenders I'm probably due on...

Update:- * week girl lost a whopping 5lbs!!! Water weight it is.

Get back on that wagon!

Ugh.

So I took 3 weeks off of Slimming World. And I gorged. And I gained 2.5lbs. I know it could be worse. It could also be better.

In 8 months I have lost 7lbs.

But
In 8 months I have lost and kept off 7lbs
And
In another 8 months I could lose another 7lbs
So

I am back on it. Going to chill out about it. (Me and chilled do not belong in the same sentence).
I'm going to go slowly, take it easy. Enjoy my journey.

777 Challenge II. Somethings gotta give

Last time I did the 777 challenge I gained 0.5lb. GAINED!
BUT the week after I lost 2.5lbs (my biggest weekly loss to date).

Here we go...

Self-sabotage vs. Determination

When emotions are running high there's a very thin line between throwing the towel in and igniting the drive to persevere.

Which side do you fall on?

Day 2 of Kay's Soup Challenge

Well I'm not very good at this.
Recently its been hard enough for me to stick to SW at all, let alone introducing a really complicated and difficult challenge.
And starting on Easter Weekend?! Am I mental...??

Kay's Soup Challenge - 1 week of low carb, soup-eating fun!

Kay is a member on my beloved site minimins and has come up with the souper (get it) challenge which I had planned to embark on today.

I was very VERY unprepared. Still am (?)

Last night I went to bed at about 11pm, rather smug with this weeks STS and pondering soup. Was woken up at about 2:50am (by my partying boyfriend who fell asleep quite promptly), and I thought about soup for about an hour and a half. Then I was up at 6am chopping courgettes.

My soup was actually delicious!!! A bit watery (very watery) but also very yum!

Date: 17/4/14
Day of Challenge: 1
Plan: Red
Water intake: 1.5l (so far)
Carbs: sushi (oops)
Body magic: 45 minute walk to work (2.2 miles) carrying 1.2l of soup in one hand and 1.5kg of yogurt and fruit on my back. 2.2 miles home. 1.5 miles to friends and back. 1.4 miles to town and back
Syns: 5 from sushi (16 from vodka!)
Soup: garlic (SF), onion (SF)(S), red pepper (SF)(S), courgette (SF)(S), passata (SF)(S), seasoning & stock

Do you know what though. I’m not going to do the guilt/ punishment thing this week. If I do one day of the challenge- great. If I do 7- great too!

We’re so good at beating ourselves up but would never talk to anyone else in the same way. (As if I’ve had a revelation!) Seriously though, why is that?

Anyway I’m going to be very sloshy with all this water, tea, yogurt and soup. Bleurgh

Here's to the next 6 months!

The last 6 months have been rocky, to say the least, but that's life and everything isn't going to go on hold just so I can lose weight...

Week 26. 6 months of Slimming World

A quote from myself 6 days ago:-

"I need to see a result this week. I need to.

I joined SW Wednesday 9th October 2013. Next week will be Wednesday 9th April 2014. Exactly 6 months. 8lbs in 6 months.
I need a loss this week. No pressure.

Consultant gave me a food diary and I'm going to try to come back on here [minimins]. Keep myself on track."

This is whats happened...

Day 1-

I had a 33.5 syn piece of chocolate fudge cake and scoop of vanilla pod ice-cream
I also found out that sainsbury's own veggie mince is not free- oops.

Day 2-

3.5 syns but cheated with my cereal- didn't measure and had shed loads

Day 3-

I drank A LOT of vodka. Food was pretty much good as gold though. I forgot to have superfree with dinner

Day 4-

Back on it. More sneaky cereal but lots of fruit and veg

Day 5-

Supposed to be as good as gold. Started with a 6.5 syn nutrigrain which I thought was a HeB! Ended with a bunch of sugar and syrup filled cocktails and a jaegarbomb.

Day 6-

Today

NO syns today. NONE.
The plan:-
2x eggs (F), strawberries (SF)(SS)
apple (SF)(S)
banana, (SF)

salmon fillet (F), garlic (SF), onion (SF)(S), beansprouts (SF)(S), peppers (SF)(S), noodles (F), light soy sauce (F)
mango (SF), kiwi (SF)(S), pineapple (SF)(S) and grapes (SF)
peach activia 0% (F), strawberries (SF)(SS)
Dinner- ?
HeA-? HeB-?

Instagram

I embarked on my Slimming World journey just over 5 months ago now and its been a very bumpy ride.
Although I do not (yet) have results I can boast with..I'm sure I'll get there, eventually.
And one thing that supporters and followers alike can say with confidence is,

"where would I be if I had not have started?"
-possibly two stone heavier?

I am all for utilising as many tools as possible, and have always spoke highly of minimins (an amazing online support forum for many types of diets and lifestyles).

8 weeks ago I discovered instagram and its great.

Search:- #slimmingworld    (hashtag)

and 512,027 posts come up in the form of pictures. Anyone who has shared a picture and stamped it with that hash tag will be shown on your screen. There are pictures of boiled eggs, and hardboiled sweets. There are pictures of the scrummiest looking meals you've ever seen and ones that look like something the dogs brought up. People reveal pictures of themselves in their underwear before and after huge weight loss.

It's amazing.

Mostly I love browsing people's food pictures. I get some real food envy sometimes. But mostly you get loads of great ideas. Wonderful ways to sneak some extra veg into your meals, and how to enjoy your healthy extra B without eating weetabix for 365 days of the year.
